    Eastern and Austria Chamber discuss opportunities for cooperation and promote trade relations




    The East Chamber Secretary-General Abdulrahman bin Abdullah Al wabil discussed possible ways and means to enhance bilateral trade relations between Saudi Arabia and Austria in the Wednesday 26 March 2014 meeting with Regional Director for Africa and the Middle East in the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber (afec) Ulrike Straka, commercial counselor at the Austrian Embassy in Riyadh Pierre Bronis headquarters main Chamber in Dammam. Straka said that there are real opportunities to increase trade and investment between the United Kingdom and Austria, also reviewed investment opportunities in the two countries in various sectors is highlighted: engineering technology, rail transportation, oil and gas, timber and food packaging, storage & logistics systems management and advisory services, noting that the meeting was positive for both parties.

    During the meeting, Straka has focused on the possibilities of cooperation between the two countries in the areas of health care, water treatment, environment, alternative energy, said that in Austria a lot of services to offer to the Kingdom on renewable energy development, saying that the Austrian renewable energy represents more than 40 per cent of total energy consumption. The parties discussed the possibility of organizing joint events and programs during the year to enhance trade exchange delegation includes commercial and exhibition catalogues for Austrian companies. Austria's exports to the Kingdom reached in 2013 exports to Saudi Arabia to 684 million euros, an increase of 18 percent compared to the year 2012, Austria to Saudi Arabia and medicines and lightings, paper, food & beverage, Saudi exports to Austria amounted to 372 million euros.
